In this session, you will learn practical strategies to help you identify and respond to employees who may be experiencing a mental health concern at work, as well as strategies for creating a psychologically healthy and safe work environment for everyone. In this session, participants will learn,
- How to identify your role in supporting employees across the mental health spectrum
- How to recognize and respond to a mental health concern in the workplace
- Practical leadership strategies that promote psychological health and safety in your team
Harassment is more than just a policy! Learn how to spot, approach and stop harassment in your workplace!
Wednesday, May 3, 2023 (12:00 – 1:00 pm)
Presenter: Wendy Hofford – People Management Consultant – WH Strategic Drive Inc.
Workplace harassment affects everyone in the office and on the job site. If left unchecked it can cause a workplace to become toxic creating stress, anxiety and poor morale for staff. This can negatively impact production, quality of work, and company revenue. Everyone in the workplace has a responsibility to contribute to a positive work environment and the right to work in an environment free from discrimination and harassment. When inappropriate and disrespectful behavior happens in the workplace, measures must be taken to address the behavior and stop it. Employers are required by legislation to protect their employees and safeguard their workplaces so everyone can be free from discrimination and harassment. This includes having a harassment policy and procedure in place to make that happen.
For many employers, the challenge is not about having the policy but making sure that all employees abide by the policy. In this workshop, we will provide strategies to help leaders within workplaces understand that just having a policy isn’t enough. It takes more than a policy to stop discrimination and harassment in the workplace. In this session, participants will learn,
- What “Discrimination and Harassment” have in common
- The negative impact in the workplace and on the bottom line
- How to implement the SAS method, “Spot, Approach and Stop” discrimination & harassment
- Strategies and tactics to ensure the SAS method is successful in any workplace.
