Between January 1 and July 31 2021, Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health has issued almost 20 stop work orders for scaffold and other elevated work platforms. To help prevent a stop work order and reduce the risk of injury on YOUR site, the Construction Safety Association of Manitoba (CSAM) has developed a new virtual toolbox talk.
Scaffolds, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts are elevated work platforms that allow a worker to do a task at height where a ladder is not reasonable or practical to use. Our new virtual toolbox talk reviews the best practices for using these elevated work platforms.
This toolbox talk is for informational purposes only. Employers should refer to the Workplace Safety and Health Regulation to ensure compliance with Part 22 - Powered Mobile Equipment and Part 28 - Scaffolds and Other Elevated Work Platforms.
