Train the Trainer: WHMIS

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS) is a national communication system that deals with controlled products. It includes three main components: labels, material safety data sheets (MSDS) and worker education. WHMIS is the best way for employers and workers to know about the controlled products they work with on the job.

Train the Trainer: WHMIS teaches participants about WHMIS legislation requirements and provides guidelines for developing a site-specific training program for their company.
Upon successfully completing both parts of the Train the Trainer program, students will be qualified to conduct a generic WHMIS training program and will have the knowledge to develop a basic site-specific program.
Participants will earn a WHMIS certificate of training and will receive credit toward COR™ or SECOR™ Certificate program requirements.
