Legislation
An important part of your safety program, is understanding the Regulation Information that you must be in compliance with. You need to understand the responsibilities of the Prime Contractor, Sub-Contractor, Building & Property Owner and the workers themselves. Below are a list of reference information from the Workplace Health & Safety Act, Workman’s Compensation and Canadian Standards Association.

After all is said and done, IT IS THE LAW.
It is definitely in your best interests to know, understand and apply the legislative requirements for the jurisdiction you work.
The Workplace Safety and Health Act spells out the legal duties and responsibilities of people found in the workplace. WSH Regulations are more specific and spell out the "procedures" for the type of work to be done. As all workers have the RIGHT TO KNOW and The RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE in their own health and safety, every worksite should have a copy of the WSH Act and Regulation readily available.
