New!! Flagperson Training
The Highway Traffic Act and Workplace Safety and Health Regulation 217 / 2006 both have requirements for a flagperson “whenever the movement of vehicular traffic constitutes a risk to the safety or health of a worker.
CSAM is pleased to offer, in conjunction with Manitoba Infrastructure & Transportation, a new four-hour course that highlights the minimum requirements of any worker required to work as a flagperson.
Course content includes:
- Legislation and Definitions
- Employer and employee responsibilities and duties
- When a flagperson is required (and not required)
- PPE, clothing, and signage
- Traffic control devices
- Exercises, practices and procedures

The Westman Association of Safety Professionals (WASP) has come to the end of another great year!
This year’s guests included speakers from Manitoba Hydro, CP Rail, Canexus Chemicals, Brandon Regional Health Center, and the City of Brandon. Thanks to all of our speakers for keeping us informed on what’s up in safety!
WASP meets the third Wednesday of every month from September – May. All are welcome to attend, and we are always looking for presenters to come in and share information about their company’s safety culture.
