After receiving further information from the Province of Manitoba, the Construction Safety Association of Manitoba’s in-person training will NOT be reduced to nine participants, as announced Friday.
As of Monday, September 28, Winnipeg moved into the restricted (orange) level of the Pandemic Response System, introducing a mask mandate in public areas and restrictions on sizes of public gatherings.
These public gathering restrictions do not apply to group training sessions, including CSAM’s classroom training. Instead, the province specified group training can take place, as long as classes are kept at 50 per cent capacity, not exceeding 25.
CSAM’s planned class sizes adhere to these rules.
As per public health guidelines and the Winnipeg Construction Association’s policy, non-medical masks continue to be required in all public areas of the Construction Education Centre, including the lobby, washrooms, hallways leading to classrooms, and the servery. Once seated in the training or meeting room and appropriately distanced, attendees may remove their mask.
We will have plenty of extra masks available (at no charge) for those who don't have one. Or, alternatively, check out this resource document for information on how to make your own cloth face covering.
We also continue to offer the majority of our classroom training as live, online virtual training. If you are currently registered for an online course and would like to move to our virtual training option, please contact our Training & Program Coordinator at marla@constructionsafety.ca.
