With recent concern over the spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus), the Construction Safety Association of Manitoba (CSAM) is committed to minimizing the spread of any communicable diseases and viruses (such as influenza and COVID-19) and is taking the following precautionary steps at its facilities:
- We will post notices throughout our facilities informing visitors, classroom participants and employees about signs and symptoms of illness and steps individuals can take to prevent the spread of viruses like COVID-19, such as proper hand washing and coughing or sneezing into a tissue.
- All courses at our facilities will begin with a brief overview of methods for preventing the spread of infection.
- We have increased our already rigorous cleaning protocol for the Construction Education Centre. All our desks, chairs, tables, and other surfaces are being disinfected regularly.
- Course participants will be directed to stay home and seek medical attention should they recognize these possible symptoms. To help facilitate this, we are offering full refunds for anyone who has registered for a course or event at CSAM but feels unwell.
The Government of Manitoba is continually assessing the status of COVID-19 cases in Manitoba and has developed useful resources and information sheets. To learn more, please visit their website: https://www.gov.mb.ca/health/coronavirus/
