Iqbal Brar, a lifelong Manitoba resident with an unwavering passion for occupational health and safety, has dedicated his entire professional career to this field. With over a decade of experience, he has built a reputation as a skilled and knowledgeable safety expert.
Before founding IQ Safety Solutions, Iqbal gained valuable experience working for one of Canada's largest powerline utility contractors, where he served as a Regional Health and Safety Manager for Central and Eastern Canada. In this role, he was responsible for developing and implementing health and safety systems, leading serious incident investigations, and managing large-scale projects.
One of the noteworthy projects Iqbal managed during his tenure was serving as the Project Safety Manager for Canada's largest transmission line project. This project, valued at 1.1 billion dollars, spanned over 1800 kilometres, and featured a peak workforce of 1300+ employees, 25 remote work camps, and a dedicated team of over 30 safety personnel.
His academic achievements include graduating with honours from Red River's Occupational Health and Safety Program in 2014. Since then, he has earned the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation, Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) designation and the Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) designation.
