February 18 marked the date of the Winnipeg Construction Association (WCA) Annual General Meeting. This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, WCA held its first virtual AGM, streamed live to participants via Zoom.
As usual, the Construction Safety Association of Manitoba (CSAM) reported on its activities for the year, this year highlighting CSAM's ability to adapt our services to continue serving customers during the evolving pandemic.
"2020 has been an unprecedented year," said Executive Director Sean Scott. "Although we have needed to adjust a number of activities and the way of servicing our clients, our commitment to exceptional customer service, quality, and value for our clients has remained the foundation of our continued success."
2020 was the mid-point of CSAM's three-year strategic plan, which is built upon the three pillars of leadership, best practices, and efficiency. As identified in the Annual Report, and as readily available on CSAM's website, we introduced numerous resources and guidance documents to help navigate new COVID-19 safety and health protocols. Other areas of note for our 2020 activities including the following:
- Transitioning to delivery of live, virtual online training
- Creating of three new training courses
- Revamping 11 existing courses
- Creating 32 new toolbox talks
- Adding 13 new sections to the CSAM App
- Launching the online audit tool
