Summertime construction in Manitoba means hot, humid and hard-working conditions. Without adequate fluid replacement, workers can become dehydrated, which can lead to heat illness. Staying hydrated is crucial to support the physical functions of the body and improve overall well-being. Workers who hydrate correctly are more comfortable, cool and alert – making for a more productive and healthier construction crew. In this session, participants will learn,
- Adequate fluid replacement to stay hydrated
- Role of electrolytes with sweating
- Effective hydration strategies while working in hot weather
