St. John Ambulance meets and exceeds Canadian Standards Association (CSA) guidelines. The role and responsibility of a workplace first aider is having a basic knowledge of how to recognize an injury/illness and to provide lifesaving first aid care until medical care takes over.  This course offers training in CPR for infants, children, and adults, AED and emergency situations such as choking, bleeding, asthma, and allergic reactions.  Intended for individuals in low hazard work environments. Please note: As per St. John Ambulance policy, participants must arrive on time. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System 2015 (WHMIS 2015) is a globally harmonized communication system dealing with controlled products and includes three main components: labels, safety data sheets (SDS), and worker education. WHMIS 2015 provides employers and workers with information about the controlled products they work with on the job, or will be in the proximity of, within the workplace. Participants will earn a WHMIS 2015 certificate of training.
