The Construction Safety Association of Manitoba (CSAM) is proud to award the 2022 Construction Safety Award of Merit to Concord Projects Ltd. Operations Manager Ed L’Heureux.
This award, presented annually by CSAM at The Safetys awards gala serves to recognize an individual’s dedication and outstanding contribution to health and safety in the construction industry of Manitoba.
“Ed L’Heureux is not a safety professional by title, but more importantly, he is a true practitioner of safety,” says CSAM Executive Director Sean Scott. “As the operations manager for a large general contractor, he incorporates an equitable management style to his role, wherein production, quality, efficiency, and safety are all treated equally.”
Since joining Concord Projects Ltd. in 2018, L’Heureux has worked consistently and contributed to improving quality and safety knowledge on Concord’s jobsites. He takes a supportive, team approach to educating his teammates and trades about safe work procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment.
He never misses an opportunity to identify better ways to complete work and takes the time to share what he sees to help workers and supervisors be more effective at their jobs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he also led the implementation of two key initiatives — warm water handwash stations and digital site logs — which boosted morale on jobsites and contributed to keeping COVID-19 case counts low on Concord’s jobsites. L’Heureux is an invaluable resource with his knowledge, approach, and collaboration.
“I’d really like to thank the entire team at Concord for being so supportive,” L’Heureux says. “I truly enjoy working with them to continually find more efficient and safer ways to complete our projects — it’s the ‘Concord way’.”
L’Heureux and other leaders in occupational safety and health received their awards at The Safetys awards gala on November 2 at the Victoria Inn Hotel and Convention Centre in Winnipeg.
