For years, the Construction Safety Association of Manitoba (CSAM) has developed practical tools to help employers build safer workplaces. Online training, COR® audits, Safety Pass, client records, and training certificates all solved important challenges, but they also created a new one.
Contractors often found themselves managing multiple platforms, multiple logins, and multiple places to find the information they needed.
To address that challenge, CSAM has launched SHIELD, a new all-in-one digital platform that brings these services together under a single login.

At CSAM, our mission has always been to provide practical solutions that support Manitoba's construction industry. Shield was designed with that same philosophy in mind.
Rather than asking employers to navigate several different systems, Shield centralizes key safety services into one platform, making it easier to manage training, certification, audits, and employee records.
The result is a streamlined experience that reduces administrative burden while giving companies quicker access to the information they need.
What You'll Find in SHIELD
Shield combines many of CSAM's existing online services into a single dashboard, including:
- Instructor-led training records
- Online course registration
- COR® audit management
- Employee training records and certificates
- Company certification information
- Third-party certificate storage
Companies that previously used CSAM's online audit tools will also find their audit history migrated into the new platform, preserving valuable records while making future audits easier to manage.
A Better Way to Manage Your Company
One of Shield's biggest improvements is its role-based access.
Instead of shared company usernames and passwords, every individual now has their own secure account. Companies can assign one or more Org Managers, giving designated personnel access to manage employee records, register workers for training, download certificates, view COR® information, and oversee company audits, all while maintaining stronger account security.
The platform also introduces email verification and two-factor authentication for Org Managers, helping protect company information while maintaining flexibility for employee onboarding.
Supporting the Way Industry Works
CSAM recognizes that every company manages safety differently. Some organizations complete audits internally, while others work with external safety consultants.
Shield was designed to support both approaches. Org Managers can assign audits to employees or external consultants, allowing organizations to continue using the workflows that best fit their business.
The platform also allows users to upload third-party training certificates, creating a centralized location for records from other training providers and organizations.
Built for Today and Tomorrow
Developing Shield was a significant undertaking, involving the migration of more than 6,000 companies and 36,000 users into a single platform. Rather than simply replacing older systems, the project brought together years of digital services into one integrated solution designed to grow alongside the needs of Manitoba's construction industry.
As with any major digital platform, enhancements will continue after launch. CSAM is actively encouraging users to share feedback so future updates reflect the needs of the industry.
Shield represents more than a technology upgrade; it is another step toward making safety management simpler, more efficient, and more accessible for construction employers across Manitoba.
