Every worker is entitled to work in a psychologically safe workplace. Psychosocial hazards are now recognized scientifically, and their reduction is seen in the context of the emerging legal duty to provide a psychologically safe work environment, similar to the duty to provide a physically safe work environment. A psychosocial risk assessment identifies workplace factors that may pose a risk to employees’ psychological safety and helps an employer prioritize how to reduce psychosocial hazards in their workplace. This session will discuss the SWMB risk assessment tool and how the employer, in collaboration with the committee, can assess risks in their workplace.
