Aerial Lift

For certification this course must be combined with a practical evaluation.

Raise safety awareness with this course. It trains workers on the ins and outs of aerial lift operation: types, design, hazards, maintenance, and safety. The course examines the visual inspection process, the physics of stability, the role of gravity, and the use of outriggers, stabilizers, and extendable axles.

Aerial Lift Platform training requires both a theory and practical component. This online training course will cover the theory part, but the practical component must be done by your employer. Your supervisor or an authorized representative of your employer MUST also evaluate your competency to operate the specific aerial lift you will be using. Asbestos Awareness: Understanding The Risks

Confined Space Entry: Plan and Prepare

This course must be combined with a practical training component and evaluation.

COR® Fundamentals

The Certificate of Recognition (COR®) Program is an occupational safety and health accreditation program that verifies a fully implemented safety and health management system which meets national standards. The objectives of COR® are to provide industry employers with effective tools to develop, implement, assess, and promote continual improvement of their safety and health management system to prevent or mitigate incidents and injuries as well as their associated human and financial costs. COR® is nationally registered, trademarked and endorsed by the Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations (CFCSA) and is delivered through member associations that have a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to serve as the Authority Having Jurisdiction to grant COR® in their respective province/territory – CSAM serves as the Authority Having Jurisdiction to grant COR® in Manitoba.

COR® Fundamentals is designed to ensure that company’s senior management have the knowledge and resources necessary to successfully plan and begin implementation of the COR® program.

The objective of the course is to provide an understanding of effective tools to develop, implement, assess, and promote continual improvement to an organization’s safety and health management system.

Distracted Driving: Rewind

In this course we’ll review the common causes of distracted driving and the reasons to drive without distraction. It also explains the myths surrounding multitasking while driving and lists the safety checks for performing pre-ride inspection.

Forklifts: Inspect, Recharge, and Refuel

For certification this course must be combined with a practical evaluation.

Performing the job safely on a forklift not only requires lifting, lowering, and travelling safely, but also inspecting your forklift before every shift and knowing the correct procedures for refueling and recharging. Go beyond operational forklift training to give employees an in-depth look at forklift inspections, recharging a forklift batter and refueling a gas, diesel, or LPG engine.

Forklifts: Understanding The Risks describes the common hazards of operating forklifts. It reviews the importance of understanding how to correctly operate forklifts, factors that can lead to incidents, and the importance of inspecting vehicles before and during operation.

This course will help you to recognize workplace hazards and control them before they become accidents. It examines how to identify unsafe conditions and acts that can lead to accidents. It also discusses some scenarios to give you a chance to put these hazard recognition and control techniques into practice.

This course gives participants an overview of permissible noise levels, proper PPE, and the elements of a hearing protection program.

This course fosters awareness of the sources of energy we work with, the dangers of those energies, and the
systems in place to prevent potential issues. It also covers the five main causes of preventable injuries and
the seven-step lockout/tagout procedure.

Lockout/Tagout: Make No Mistake

In this program we’ll identify the seven steps to avoid fatal mistakes and the right way to complete each one. These are the lifesaving steps of lockout/tagout, your road map to safety. We will describe safe practices for controlling hazardous energy as well as the different forms of energy and why it’s so crucial to control all forms of power. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): The Right Choice!

Personal Protective Equipment: The Right Choice! acknowledges that people have different reasons for not wanting to wear PPE. The course makes it clear that wearing PPE reduces or eliminates injuries. The responsibilities of the employer and the employee are covered, including the worker’s responsibility to wear the right PPE and wear it correctly. The different types of PPE available are explained, including head, eye and face, hearing, respiratory, hand and arm, leg and foot, and body protection.

Personal Protective Equipment

This course shows employees the proper PPE to use for the various hazards they may face in their workplace. It discusses the responsibilities of both the employer and the employee for wearing, maintaining, and replacing appropriate PPE for specific tasks.

PPE: Inspect and Respect

As you know, legislation requires that employers help protect employees from workplace hazards through engineering controls, hazard assessments, and by providing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). But the responsibility doesn’t lie with just the employer. This course helps heighten employee awareness of the importance of PPE and shares information on the types of PPE and how to properly inspect and care for it.

Portable Fire Extinguishers

This course gives participants and overview of fire safety. It will employees identify the five major types of fires; the appropriate extinguisher for each type of fire; the R.A.C.E. and P.A.S.S. methods; housekeeping; and electrical safety.

Powered Hand Tools: Safety is in Your Hands

This course will show employees how to protect themselves from powered hand tools as well as basic tool safety precautions. Powered hand tools are useful, but without the proper safety precautions, they can be a dangerous on the job hazard. That is why it is important to remember that with powered hand tools, safety is in your employees’ hands.

Respirator Safety

Protect employees from atmospheric hazards with this course, which discusses the different types of respirators; medical evaluation and fit testing; and the procedures for proper care, cleaning, and maintenance of a respirator.

Rigging: Equipment Basics

Scaffold Safety

This course covers the basics of scaffold safety. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to recognize scaffold hazards, understand the hazards associated with various types of scaffolds, how to control those hazards, and how to use scaffolds properly. Students will also learn safe assembly and inspection of scaffolds, how to avoid scaffold damage, and how to follow safe work practices.

Scissor and Boom Lift Safety

Train lift operators and help protect employees. The program tackles hazards, pre-operation inspections, work zone safety, and operational dos and don’ts.

Silica Safety

This course describes the hazards and effects of exposure to silica, procedures for monitoring its presence, and safe work practices to use around silica.

Stairways and Ladders: A Safe Step

This course explains stairway hazard identification, proper ladder use and selection, and climbing fixed ladders. By using real-life scenarios, this course will provide an impactful training experience.

Stationary Scaffolds in Construction

TDG – Transportation of Dangerous Goods

Following the completion of Transportation of Dangerous Goods training, employers must issue a training certificate that meets the TDG Regulations, such as the one available here.

Time Management: Planning for Success

Pressed for time and urged to be more productive than ever, 24 hours in a day does not seem enough for many people. Even so, it is how we use those hours that largely determines our success at work. The program explains time management measures and helps participants avoid time wasters and understand the causes of poor time management.

Welding Safety

This course is designed to increase participants’ knowledge of welding safety. The course identifies hazards with welding and identifies specific lines of defense for protection against hazards. It also describes how to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and how to work safely before, during, and after welding activities.

WHMIS: In Sync with GHS (Global Harmonized System)

What is the Globally Harmonized System (GHS)? GHS stands for the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. GHS defines and classifies the hazards of chemical products, and communicates health and safety information on labels and safety data sheets.

Workplace Ergonomics

This course will help employees prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and design ergonomically friendly workstations.
